Sermons from September 2022

Love

Love is one of those words that we hear a lot and which sometimes seems to lose its meaning. But in the Bible, love is given a status far higher than anything else except God Himself. As Chris is away Kath examines what love means to God and how we can all share in that love and be ambassadors of that love to those around us.

Andy leads the rest of the service with a reflection on the Queen’s funeral and Pete leads our sung worship.

Harvest 2022

Harvest is a time where – once a year – we come together as the Church to set aside one Sunday to specifically say thank you to God for His provision. But what do we give back to God in return? As Chris is away, Ricky challenges us to consider how we spend our money, time and gifts. Do we really give back to God what He deserves?

Ant leads the rest of the service with an update from Vanessa on our Mission of the Month, Tearfund, and Barry leads our communion.

Significance

This Sunday we live in a world irreversibly changed from the one we are used to. Queen Elizabeth II was a woman of exceedingly strong faith and who was fully aware of her significance and responsibility to God and to the people she served. But what about us? Chris looks at where our significance lies and reminds us that whilst we may seem insignificant God views us completely differently.

Karen leads the rest of the service with reflections and prayers for the new King and the Royal Family whilst Pete leads our sung worship.
