The Leadership Team met on 14 October and agreed that the government guidance has not changed enough to return to full in-person worship on Sunday mornings. We will reassess again on 11 Nov. However, we propose a Monday night prayer meeting with a small number gathering in the Church building (in the School Room) as well as some joining via Zoom. In the light of the experience from this event we will be considering other in-person meetings with small numbers. For example: Reflections, Sunday Evening, Lyfe Group. Pre-booking will be essential, no congregational singing is permitted and masks will be required. We are unable to offer transport at this time. All events will be risk assessed and will comply with guidance. We have also been working on the technology necessary to allow live streaming of services from the chapel. We are intentionally taking small and cautious steps forward bearing in mind not only what is permissible but what is beneficial.
Our church building is still closed. Each Sunday that we are unable to meet in the building we are uploading a video and/or audio service, sermon or reflection to our usual sermons podcast pages. Click this link or the link in the menu above to view our sermon pages. All are invited to join our Facebook Page. For those connected to the church or if you would like to be, you can join our Facebook Group (Burwell Baptist Congregation) where you can find links to our prayer meetings and small group meetings and post service chats.
On the Third Sunday of each month we share communion live via Zoom. If you would like to join us live please join the Facebook Group or contact us for a link. We hope to share a recording of the service soon after the service closes but it can take a while to appear.
We are continually reviewing the situation and this page will be updated with the latest information as and when we get it.
We live in uncertain times but we have a trustworthy God and believe His Spirit will lead us through.
