Sermons on Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday 2024

Who do you say Jesus is? In our service for Palm Sunday this year Chris challenges us to go beyond the surface level “Palm Sunday” faith, let Jesus work through us and live our lives to our true potential.

Ant leads the rest of the service with a reflection on the many names of Jesus whilst Lynne and Dave lead our sung worship.

Palm Sunday 2023

For our All Age Palm Sunday service Chris leads us in several reflections based around the events of the 8 days of Holy Week. From the Triumphal Entry to Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection the following weekend how do we respond to his amazing sacrifice?

Mike leads our sung worship this week.

Palm Sunday 2022

An all-age service for Palm Sunday. This year Chris looks at what Jesus was doing immediately before his triumphal entry into Jerusalem and how the raising of Lazarus from the dead put pressure on the Pharisees to take action and directly led to the events of Jesus’ own death and resurrection.

James leads the rest of the service with contributions from Lyn and Esther and sung worship led by Pete and Nick.

The Triumphal Entry – A Liberation March

For Palm Sunday this year, we invite a (virtual!) visiting speaker. Beth Powney, EBA Regional Minister, brings us her take on the Triumphal Entry as a liberation march and asks whether we are willing to join that march today.
Elsewhere in the service, Chris leads us in prayers whilst Peter Crosbie brings the reading and Mike chooses the worship music.

Palm Sunday 2020

This service is available in both video and audio format.

As we enter a very different Holy Week to the one we were expecting a few weeks ago, Chris looks at Palm Sunday through the way it is reported in John’s gospel. Susan is our service leader and she also introduces updates from Amanda, Nick and Emily, prayers from Lynne and a Palm Sunday poem read by Shona.

Mike has chosen the music for this week and the playlist can be found in the paragraph underneath the video.
