Sermons by Tim Bright

For Such a Time as This

As Chris is away our guest speaker this week is Tim Bright of King’s Church Mildenhall. Tim speaks on the story of Esther, in particular the passage from chapter 4 where Esther is informed of the plot to exterminate the Jews living in the Persian Empire of the 5th century BC. She has a choice to either stay quiet and save her own life or speak up on behalf of her people. Esther ultimately stood up for her people and her beliefs, we are challenged to do the same for God today in the 21st century (AD!) despite any opposition we may face.

Ant leads the rest of the service, returning from a successful conquering of mount Snowdon which he may or may not mention… Mike leads our sung worship this week.

God’s Plans

Tim Bright joins us this week and speaks on the plans that God has for us, both as individuals and as a church. Using the crossing of the Red Sea as an example, Tim looks at how often the direction we’re going doesn’t seem to be the right way, but by following God he works it all out in the end for our good.

Karen leads the rest of the service with an update on GenR8, our mission of the month for June, and Pete and Nick lead our sung worship.
