Jesus taught this parable or story to show how us how God is moved by our prayers and how He loves to help us when we ask Him.
Jesus said, suppose a friend comes to your house late at night after a long journey. He is hungry when he arrives, but you have no food to offer him.

It’s very dark outside and all the shops have closed for the night. So you run to your neighbour to ask for some bread.

Your neighbours house is all dark and the door is locked, so you shout to your neighbour, “my friend has come to stay and I don’t have any food to offer him to drink, please can you let me have some.”

But the neighbour has gone to bed. “We are all in bed”, he shouts back, “and you have woken up my children with your shouting”.

Instead of going home, you keep shouting for your neighbour to help you.

In the end, the neighbour gets out of bed and gives you two loaves of bread because you were very persistent in asking for his help.

Jesus encourages us to be persistent in asking, seeking or looking for God. He promises us, that God will answer or help us when we ask.
