Jesus taught in parables or stories to explain things about the Kingdom of God.
In this parable, Jesus said that finding the Kingdom of God was like finding hidden treasure in a field.
Jesus continued, ‘imagine a man is walking across a field and sees a treasure chest sticking out of the ground.
He is excited and wonders what is inside.
The man digs up the chest to see if there is anything of value inside.
When he opens the chest, he sees lots of wonderful treasure and decides to hide the chest.
He then sells all his possessions so he can buy the field where the treasure chest is.
And takes the cash to the land owner and buys the field.
He digs up the treasure chest and finds….
GREAT TREASURE!!
