Compassion for the Sick

The word translated compassion is the strongest word for pity in the Greek language.  In the gospels, apart from three parables, it is used only of Jesus. It describes a compassion which moves a person to the deepest depths of their being.  When we study these passages we are able to see the things which moved Jesus most of all.  In each sermon Chris will focus on one of each of the 5 groups of people on whom the gospels say Jesus had compassion.  The first one we will consider is from Matthew 14:14 where it is said that Jesus had compassion on the sick.
