Building a Worshipping Fellowship

Chris continues our new series looking at the church’s mission statement with the second statement: building a worshipping fellowship. Just how can our worship inform our day-to-day lives and not just for a couple of hours on a Sunday? How can we move from singing the songs and praying the prayers to actually living out those words?
James leads the rest of the service with Pete leading our sung worship this week.

Building a Loving Fellowship

In 2002, the church adopted a mission statement saying that we are working towards building a loving, worshipping, learning, evangelistic and Spirit filled fellowship. 20 years later Chris begins a new series centred around our year text examining how we can continue to use that statement to build up our fellowship in 2022. This week he looks at how we can build a loving fellowship.
Karen leads the rest of the service whilst Lynne and Mike lead our sung worship.

Vision Service 2022

“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:18
This week was our vision service for 2022. Chris spends some time reflecting on what God has done through the church in the last year, giving thanks for His provision, as well as introducing us to our year text for 2022 and looking forward to the continuing work in the coming year.
Susan leads the rest of the service, as members of the congregation bring their revelations from God for the new year. Pete and Nick lead our sung worship.

Together We Grow

Happy New Year! As we begin a new year, we conclude our latest All Age series on Frontline Sundays, this month looking at how Together We Grow. God did not intend for Christians to walk the journey alone, we are called to be members of a community: the church. Chris explores how being part of the church helps us hold on to hope, spur one another on and encourages us to keep meeting.
Shona leads the rest of the service whilst Pete leads our sung worship.

Advent: How Can We Endure?

Continuing our Advent series, this week Chris looks at 1 Thessalonians chapter 3, asking the question “how can we endure?”. As we have been reading, the Thessalonians at the time of writing were suffering from persecution yet their faith in Jesus had not faltered. How can we follow their example when experiencing troubled periods in our own lives?

Shona leads the rest of the service, with an update from Maureen on our Mission of the Month, BMS World Mission, and Pete and Nick lead our sung worship.

Whoever We Are

Our All-Age series on Frontline Sundays continues for December, with Chris looking at how we can show the love of God whoever we are. He examines the Lord’s Prayer in detail, explaining how each of the lines explains how we can worship God in our situation.
Ant leads the rest of the service whilst Mike leads the sung worship.

Advent: Who Will Rescue Us?

As we enter into advent, this year we are looking at the book of 1 Thessalonians. Advent is a time of reflection, of waiting on God, remembering the wait for Jesus’ birth and anticipating his return. Chris this week asks the question who will rescue us?
Andy leads the rest of the service as we participate in Communion and Nick leads the sung worship.

New Life

In the final part of our series in Romans, Chris answers the familiar question “What did the Cross Achieve?” with an explanation of how it gives us new life. He explores how having new life gives us the ability to have new relationships with God, with each other and with creation.
Susan leads the rest of the service with the traditional 2 minutes silence at 11 o’clock for Remembrance Sunday. Mike and Lynne lead sung worship.
